Preventing Violence Against Women in Fiji’s Faith Settings (PVAWFFS) Project Support Phase Training for New Community Activists – 2 Dec 2021

The PVAWFFS project adapted from the SASA! Faith by Raising Voices is being implemented in three Anglican Parishes at Matata, Wailoku and Newtown by the House of Sarah and supported by UN Women. Community Activists (CAs) play a pivotal role in progressing the philosophy of changing attitudes towards violence against women in implementing the PVAWFFS. At present, there are eighteen CAs working as volunteers in these Parishes.
Today six more women and five more men have volunteered to become Community Activists so they are attending a four-day workshop to equip and provide them with skills to work as CAs. This is part of a series of training conducted by the PVAWFFS Team at the House of Sarah. Upon completion of the training these new CAs will join those already trained to conduct activities in their respective communities.
