House of Sarah was very fortunate to have Hon. Dulcie Tei (only elected female MP in Tonga 🇹🇴) and her good husband Mr. Poasi Tei (Former Deputy Prime Minister of Tonga) visit us at the House of Sarah office in Valelevu, Nasinu on Friday 1st March 2024.
Hon. Dulcie Tei’s visit was to learn about the House of Sarah programs and what it does. It was also a good opportunity to connect with her. The visit was arranged by Balance of Power, Regional Office in Suva.
Hon. Dulcie Tei (Bio) 🇹🇴
Hon. Dulcie Tei stands is the sole woman Member of Parliament elected during this current legislative term. She proudly ranks as the seventh woman to achieve such a position in the Parliament. This advances the number of woman representatives in the House to a total of two. Hon. Tei completed her education with a bachelor’s degree from the University of the South Pacific. Her career was primarily within the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) in Tonga, where she devoted many years as an educator prior to retirement before entering the political sphere.
