INSTITUTIONAL BARRIERS TO CLIMATE FINANCE: HOUSE OF SARAH & TALANOA CONSULTING

The House of Sarah were engaged in a research with Talanoa Consulting in the area of Climate Financing. It was titled a Small Research Activity: Institutional Barriers to Climate Finance through a Gendered Lens in Fiji, Samoa, and Solomon Islands.
The three main research objectives were to understand the experiences of faith-based organisations (FBOs) in accessing climate finance in Fiji by examining the:
(a) types of adaptation projects that get funded.
(b) main recipients and sources of climate finance, if locally led and gender equitable adaptation processes are being supported by existing climate finance streams; and
(c) key institutional barriers to accessing international climate finance.

A validation workshop was held on Wednesday 31st August 2022 at the Moana Anglican Services & Teaching centre (MAST) for the FB0s and partners to talanoa and discuss findings from the research conducted by Mrs. Aliti Vunisea (consultant) engaged in this research project.
