An online training on referral pathway for survivors of gender-based violence was hosted by the House of Sarah for the Sarah Carers. The training was held on the 13th of October 2021 and facilitated by Farzana Rahim (UN Women EVAW Training and Coordination Specialist). A total of 6 participants from Lautoka, Nadi, Suva and Levuka were able to join in this training.
The aim of this training is to help the Sarah Carers develop an understanding of the Covid 19 specific gender and child protection issues, look at the adapted referral pathways and phone tree along with the risk assessment over phone counselling.
This online zoom training also prepares the Sarah Carers to know their roles and responsibilities to the people especially to women during cyclone season – to know where to refer a survivor when needed.
