JOB VACANCY
PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR FOR GENDER AND THEOLOGY PROGRAMME
We are looking for a skilled Project Coordinator for the Gender and Theology (GET) programme who will help us ensure the smooth and effective functioning of training events in the communities. The appointment is from 2024 to 2026.
GET is a component of the project on Preventing Violence Against Women & Girls in Faith Settings implemented by the House of Sarah (HoS).
Gender & Theology : Transforming Harmful Gender Norms to Stop Gender-based violence.
GET challenges the prevalent belief amongst members of faith communities that women and men are not created equal. These traditional Biblical interpretations that have been passed down from missionaries until today are contributing to attitudes and behaviours that perpetuate violence against women and girls (VAWG). HoS’s GET programme introduces a new understanding of God’s vision for human relationships that is based on equality, respect, just, caring, loving and peaceful and will consequently transform harmful gender norms. By introducing new insights and interpretations of Biblical texts, faith communities can live out the values and principles of respectful relationships.
Project Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall implementation of the GET programme from the baseline survey, organising the programmes, supporting the GET Trainers carry out the training in the selected communities, monitoring the activities, assessing the impact, and documenting results.
** The incumbent will be required to travel with the training team to the communities.
